King Arthur

Arthurian Music

The Arthurian legend has inspired a great deal of music over the centuries. Here is an assortment of collections. (I'll organize it a bit more when I have the time <g>.)

 King Arthur
Soundtrack of the movie.

 Vol. 2-Gift of Excalibur
Medwyn Goodall gives us this New Age offering.

 Silver Screen Classics, Vol. 3
This collection includes the theme for Excalibur.

 Excalibur 2000 (Aus) [CD-SINGLE] [IMPORT]
This single includes "Excalibur 2000" and "Merlinmelodic Song."

 Excalibur [IMPORT]
Several Arthurian-inspired pieces; apparently the group is named "Exaclibur."

Though this work is currently listed as no longer available, Amazon may still be able to obtain a copy for you.

 One Strange Night [IMPORT]
Another offering by the group "Excalibur"; there's no song list, so I'm uncertain whether there are any Arthurian-inspired songs. (This item is no longer available through Amazon, but you might want to try a search for it using the box provided below. Sometimes it shows up at Auction or in the ZShops.)

 Camelot in Smithereens
I'm uncertain whether this offering by "Deliverance" has anything in common with the Arthurian legend beyond the name.

Camelot

Camelot (Original Broadway Cast) [ORIGINAL RECORDING REMASTERED] [SOUNDTRACK]
The soundtrack for the beloved Broadway play.

 Camelot
A US edition of the original cast (with a must-read review from VideoHound Soundtracks).

Camelot (1982 London Revival Cast) [SOUNDTRACK]
Another take on an old favorite.

Though this work is currently listed as no longer available, Amazon may still be able to obtain a copy for you.

Percy Faith - Camelot/Percy Faith - My Fair Lady: A Golden Classics Edition [2 On 1]
Be warned: This edition does not include the words.

Camelot: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack (1967 Film) [SOUNDTRACK]
The soundtrack for the 1967 film.

Quest for Camelot

Be sure to check out the books and video!

 Quest for Camelot [SOUNDTRACK]
The soundtrack for the hit animated movie.

"Camelot" and "To be a Knight"
Two songs from Quest for Camelot

 Sing-A-Long [KARAOKE]
A karoke version of the Quest for Camelot soundtrack.

Wagner

Richard Wagner created some of the most popular Arthurian music of all time (in addition to some other things <g>).

Richard Wagner Edition--Die Walküre / Pierre Boulez [IMPORT]
This CD contains an excellent recording of Die Walküre. (Non-Arthurian.) (This item is no longer available through Amazon, but you might want to try a search, using the box provided below. Sometimes it shows up at Auction or in the Zshops.)

 Walkure-Act 1
First act of Die Walküre (Non-Arthurian.)

 Das Wagner Desaster Live.
A collection inspired by various composers, including Wagner. The Wagner tract by Klaus Schulze is described as a "Wild Mix." (I do not know if it contains any of the Arthurian selections.)

The 78s - Wagner: Tannhäuser / Elmendorff, Bayreuth Festival
Not Arthurian, but a similar tale is told about Arthur.

An American Soprano / Ellen Faull.
This CD includes excerpts from Wagner's Lohengrin.

 Lebendige Vergangenheit - Alessandro Ziliani
This CD also includes excerpts from Wagner's Lohengrin.
