1. When did you join Queen's Own?

   August 2001.

2. What got you hooked on Misty's books?

   I ran across one in the book store, and as I was looking for a new fantasy series I bought it (It was the Gryphon series.). After those, I was hooked and I now own every Velgarth novel she has put out including the new Valdemar Companion and the short story books.

3. What else do you read?

   Just about everything. Literature like Shakespeare, fiction, mystery, fantasy . . . a better question would be what do I not read.

4. What types of music do you listen to?

   Again, there is not much I don't like. I think rap and heavy metal are the only two I don't have in my collection. I just recently discovered Misty's filk, so I am in the process of finding that right now.

5. What movies do you enjoy?

   Comedy is my favorite. If I am going to sit still for that long, I want to be amused.

6. What was the first con you went to?

   Sadly to say, I have yet to attend any. No time and none close by.

7. Why did you get involved in fandom?

   I wanted to learn more about the books and interact with people who love them as much as I do.

8. What do you like best about fandom?

   The community. This is the only place I can say something like "I wish my Mindspeech was stronger," or "When will we find out more about Alberich" and not get funny looks.

9. What other things besides Queen's Own occupy your time?

   Well, work mostly. I am an Assistant Editor at a magazine. Other than that, I read, cross-stitch (If anyone knows where I can get some Valdemar-related projects, let me know!) and hang out with friends.

10. What types of things would you like to see Queen's Own do in the coming years?

    Well, I am looking forward to the cookbook . . . Other than that, maybe have live chats with ML if she is willing.

Heyla all-

The last few months have been difficult for me. I have filed my divorce paperwork, and, assuming everything goes to plan, it should be final in March. It takes six months from when you start the paperwork until it is done.

I am keeping busy with school and am getting into the programming classes, so I am setting up an older computer with Linux to practice on. I am keeping my GPA in the 3.8 range, so doing okay. I am taking "PROGRAMMING CONCEPTS." I will be learning C++.

I am teaching 10 classes a week now at the Petsmart and juggling my schedule to make sure I have childcare. Luckily, for me I have a great boyfriend who is more than happy to watch Alex while I am at work.

I have found myself locking out the world in order to deal with the mixed feelings about life in general in the last couple of months. I am starting to be caught up with stuff now so I expect that will not be to long in returning E-mails that are sent to me now. <Grin> or at least I hope not.

I enjoy hearing from everyone! I hope your lives are a bit less chaotic than mine. <Grin> I have noticed the chat lists are starting to pick up lots of traffic and that is encouraging, as we are hoping for more submissions of personas. The Pending list has about 80 members, and the club list has a few more. I love to see our club grow!
