Dear Misty fans:
Judith has decided [Editor's gasp!] that we should offer you the opportunity to contact one another through our fanletter, which seems to be growing of its own anyway. Therefore, those of you who would like to share your interests, request a roomate for a convention, or whatever, may send your fanmessages to Sally. Please limit them to 25-30 words, print or type them, [and don't use brown pens on brown paper!] Needless to say, we reserve the rights of all editors to edit.
Misty has given us Jody Lee's address, and we've sent her a letter asking for all the details for ordering prints of her cover art. We hope to have everything you've always wanted to know . . . for our January fanletter.
How do you like the Companion sketch below? Julie Bowman sent it to us and included samples of the silver braid bridle, silger cord used as accents and two of the tiny silver bells. As the reduction makes reading the description difficult, the body is white velour, mane and tail are long white fur, and the saddle pad is blue velvet, while the hooves are silver. The cost is $22.50 plus $2.00 to cover shipping and handling. Make your check or money order out to "Mythical Creations" and send it to [Ed. note 2002: address withheld. See the October 1988 newsletter for the current website link. We have queried whether or not Julie Bowman still makes the Companions.].
Julie also sent us a wee brochure showing her "Purrnese Cats", male or female, black, brown and gray, which are poseable, with varying clothes, and 18" tall; her Fairy, with blue green or brown eyes (and huge gorgeous looking wings), 18" tall; Istari Major, large fire lizard, either of velour and lamai, or lamai, or leather, with a 32" wing span; Istari, small fire lizard, of either velour and lanai (metalic fabric) or lamai, 4" tall.
There are lots of other animals and if you're interested I'm sure she'll send you a brochure of your own. She also included her telephone number for those of you with any questions or who wish to place your order(s) by phone, [Ed. note 2002: phone number withheld].
Remember though, we have not seen these ourselves. We are merely passing on this information as being of possible interest to you, not endorsing them (yet).
Did you all know that Misty's Heralds series has been so popular that DAW reissued it? How 'bout that! And [blush] they put our blurb in the back.
Editor's Note: Some years back, I contacted a group of fans dedicated to another author. They had some great social events but the ruling clique would listen to no new ideas nor accept any "outside" help. From some of the comments Judith has passed along to me, I gather that we're considered very relaxed and laid back. Thank you. That's what I hope we'll always be. We do this because we like to and because it's fun. That's why we too are looking forward to Richard starting a Misty fanzine and want to help him as much as we can. And that's also why we pass on information about Jody Lee prints and Julie Bowman animals, as well as put you in contact with one another.
Judith joins me in hoping that each and every one of you enjoyed a sumptuous Thanksgiving feast and that you all took the time to remember just how much you have to be thankful for, including Misty's wonderful tales.
