Heyla, folks!

We’re into the end-of-the-school-year madness. Summer school starts immediately after regular school ends, though, so we don’t get a break in routine for a while yet. I’m looking forward to our vacation. We’re hoping to visit Dinosaur National Park, Yellowstone and Lake Tahoe this year, probably in late July through early August. Anyone live between there and Southern California? Let me know if you’d like to try to meet somewhere to say "Heyla!" We’re trying to work as many friends into our itinerary as possible <g>. Also, I’ll be traveling with a computer, but I can’t guarantee that I’ll have access to the Net during that time. So e-mail response will be seriously slow, and the August newsletter is guaranteed to be late (That’s getting to be a bad habit with me that I’d dearly love to break ::sigh::.).

Thanks to all of you who have inquired about my health. I’m still having quite a bit of back trouble from the auto accident, but things seem to be improving slowly. I think it’s just one of those things that is going to take time to get over. At least I’m supposed to get my van fixed next week, which means that my daughter will be able to stop telling me that her "van is wrecked" every time we walk by it <G>. ("Yes, Kassie. Mama and Daddy know all about that. We’ll get it fixed as soon as we can.")

My eldest son, Joe, and I are Yu-Gi-Oh! dueling buddies. We have actual cards as well as GameBoys. I can beat him using the electronic version of the game (He hasn’t developed his deck much yet, and it’s the Japanese as opposed to the American rules.), but he has an Exodia deck for the real cards and mops the floor with me 19 times out of 20 <G>. He’s becoming quite the expert duelist. I want to take him to a real tournament, but they keep holding them on weekends where we have conflicts like wedding, graduations, and everyone in the family catching the flu <g>. Hopefully we’ll get the timing right in the near future and finally get to see some real duelists in action.

John may be only 18-months, but he’s practicing to be a mountain climber. "Hi, Mama!" he gleefully squeals from atop my microwave, dining room table, piano . . . It puts the recent National Geographic coverage on Mt. Everest in a new perspective .
