Terribly sorry this newsletter is so late getting out! We promise that the September one won’t be so seriously delayed.

Much has been happening, as those of you who frequent our Delphi Forum know. We are having two chapters fold, as we would desperately like to find some volunteers to help keep them alive.

First, Aurora Nelson no longer has the time to run Golden Grove, the California chapter of Queen’s Own. This is very sad news, especially since it looked for a while as if the newsletter was going to be converting to a ‘zine format because of the size of the submissions she was receiving. In addition to publishing a newsletter, Golden Grove has a website and chatlist. If you live in California and would like to take over the management of this chapter and newsletter, please contact us at Legend@malcor.com. The Chapter will officially close November 24, 2001, unless someone steps forward. After that date, the Golden Grove e-mail and website will cease to work. Aurora will continue to use the temarrea@yahoo.com e-mail address for correspondence, and Danya will try to maintain the website portion until a new editor can be found.

Second, Laura Cameron is looking for someone to take over the Pacific Northwest Collegium and its newsletter, The Collegium Chronicles. She no longer has time to run the chapter. If you live in the Pacific Northwest or are a member of the PNC and you would like to help keep this publication alive, please contact Laura at anjakiya@hotmail.com.

Our other chapters are also looking for members and for people to help organize activities. You’ll find the contact information below. These publications can always use fan fiction, so, please, submit as often as you can. Most take art, poems, games, recipes and other things as well! Contact the various editors for more information.

On a happier note, the last of the re-issues of Companions' Grove should be ready to go to press, as should the newest compilation of The Danya Winterborn Saga (a series of short stories by Herald-Mage Danya Winterborn, which have appeared in various QO publications over the last few years; Laura Cameron has created a gorgeous cover for this issue, and there are new interior illustrations as well.). Anyone interested in purchasing copies of Companions’ Grove can find more information at http://www.greendragonpress.net/misty.htm.

If you currently run a chapter of Queen’s Own, we invite you to write up an article about your organization, and we will be happy to publish that in this newsletter. (Try to keep it to about 500-750 words.) Tell us where you are, who you accept as members, what sort of activities you sponsor in the course of the year, what publications you put out, if you have a website and/or chatlist, how your group was formed, and anything else you think might be of interest to QO members. We look forward to hearing from you!

Finally, we think we’ve come up with a new list to replace the List Bot QO chatlist, which ceased to function as of August 6th. We will let you know when we work out the details.

We’re about half way through putting together the September newsletter for QO, so that one should be out soon. (If you have any personals or fan messages for the September newsletter, please send them ASAP to Legend@malcor.com .) Thanks for bearing with us! We hope you’ve all had a terrific summer!

Heyla, all!

Again, I apologize about the delays we’ve been experiencing with Queen’s Own. Most of them are the result of my health. I have a very serious case of gestational diabetes, and my blood sugar levels have been dangerously low much of this month. Moonstar has been an absolute gem about watching my kids when I’m too ill to take care of them. I truly appreciate having her live so close. My baby, John Alayn (It’s a boy!), is due November 20th, but I will probably be induced on or near November 6th because of my health. So far John is healthy and developing normally. The goal now is to keep me out of the hospital until he’s delivered and to keep him out of the ICU after delivery. Moonstar will keep you posted about what’s happening if I become unable to do so.

I’ve had gestational diabetes with all three of my pregnancies. My other two children had no medical problems, and last year my diabetes disappeared within 6 hours after my daughter’s birth! So I have high hopes for things returning to a semblance of normal before the end of this year.

Thanks to all of you who have sent cards and good wishes. I’m sorry if I haven’t responded to some of you individually. I have a limited amount of time that I’m feeling well enough to sit at a keyboard and take care of my correspondence. I hope to catch up eventually <g>!

I’m very excited about The Danya Winterborn Saga coming out with Companions’ Grove. Some of you may know that the first Danya story was scheduled to appear in the next issue when the ‘zine folded a few years back. It’s nice to see that story and the others that have followed it appearing in the first issue of the new incarnation of this excellent fanzine. I can’t wait to see my copy <g>!

The newsletter is routinely posted to the Net. If you are concerned about your address falling into unfriendly hands, don't place a fan message! You may answer fan messages without ever placing one yourself. The editors reserve the right to edit--and shorten!--all messages. (Remember to tell your Post Office about your alternative name if you wish to receive mail addressed to your persona at an addressed where you receive mail under your real name.)

The only "fee" for a fan message is to write to two other people. If your mailbox is empty, don't complain--write letters!
